Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In an expert statement it was concluded that the substance has no explosive properties as:
- The substance does not contain any of the structural features mentioned in the UN Recommendations (UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Appendix 6)
- The oxygen balance was calculated to be about - 236 (which is below the limit of -200)
- The exothermic decomposition energy was determined to be about 207 J/g, using Differential Scanning Calorimetry in a closed, gold plated high pressure vessel (which is below the limit of 500 J/g). The onset point of the exothermic peak was at about 432°C (which is below the limit of 500°C).
