Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Skin contact: Wash thoroughly after skin contact. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Eye Contact: Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes; if irritation occurs seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get
immediate medical attention.
Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Contact a poison information service for immediate/additional treatment advice

Fire-fighting measures

Material may burn, but does not ignite readily. Avoid high temperature.

Appropriate Extinguishing Media: Dry chemical Water fog Carbon dioxide Foam

Basic Fire Fighting Guidance: As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH
(approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Remove all contaminated clothing to prevent further absorption. Leather shoes that have been saturated must be discarded.
Evacuation procedures: Isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel.
Environmental precautions: Prevent releases to soils, drains, sewers, and waterways.
Containment Techniques and Clean-up Procedures: Isolate hazard area. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Remove all
ignition sources. Ventilate the area of spill or leak. Wear protective equipment during clean-up. For small spills, use suitable absorbent material and collect for later disposal. For large spills, the area may require diking to contain the spill. Material can then be collected (eg., suction) for later
disposal. After collection of material, flush area with water. Dispose of the material in accordance with standard practice for disposal of potentially hazardous materials as required by applicable federal, state or local laws.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Wear appropriate protective equipment when performing maintenance on contaminated equipment.
Wash hands thoroughly before eating or smoking after handling this material.
Unique hazards: Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly
discarded. Immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed water-filled container.

Conditions for safe storage: This product should be stored at ambient temperature in a dry, well-ventilated location. Keep
container closed when not in use.

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Ventilation: All appropriate engineering controls should be used to minimize exposure potential. Use exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below exposure limits. All operations should be conducted in well-ventilated conditions. Local exhaust ventilation should be provided.

Personal Protective Equipment: Impervious gloves, boots, and clothing, chemical goggles or face shield where necessary, and a P2 or P3
respirator or supplied air breathing apparatus. Air-purifying respirators must not be used in oxygen-deficient atmospheres.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Not classified as dangerously reactive.
Chemical stability: Stable
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Not expected to occur.
Conditions to avoid: Avoid contact with strong oxidizers.
Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products: Products of incomplete combustion may include CO, CO2 and dense smoke.; Soot

Disposal considerations

Dispose of this material in accordance with standard practice for disposal of potentially hazardous
materials as required by applicable international, national, regional, state or local laws. Do NOT dump
into any sewers, on the ground, or into any body of water. For disposal within the EC, the appropriate
code according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) should be used. Note that disposal
regulations may also apply to empty containers and equipment rinsates.
