Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the melting point is above 300°C
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
09/04/2015 - 14/04/2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Source and lot/batch No.of test material:040802#
Key result
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
392.8 °C
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
The material decomposes before melting and boiling

The test item was observed to undergo an endothermic event from 362 °C which based on observations during the test using the photocell detection test, was not an indication of melting. This was followed by a small exothermic reaction at 392.8°C. On completion of testing the sample had decomposed during the test.

Conclusions:
The substance decomposes before the melting temperature.
Executive summary:

The melting point assessment was evaluated using the DSC method, according to the EU A.1 test guideline. An exothermic reaction was significant of a decomposition of the test item before melting.
