Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
18-Sep-2017 to 02-Oct-2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Justification for type of information:
An expert statement on the properties of the substance
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
An expert assessment on the properties and composition of the substance
GLP compliance:
yes
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch: CVR 83297
Purity/Composition: 97.2%
Test item storage: At room temperature protected from light
Stable under storage conditions until: 27 December 2018 (expiry date)
Key result
Test procedure:
other: Expert statement
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
GHS criteria not met
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
A test item is considered pyrophoric when it ignites within five minutes of coming in contact with air. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with air. Moreover the test item was handled under normal laboratory conditions during this project. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite in contact with air at room temperature. In conclusion, Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride and propylidenetrimethanol has no pyrophoric properties.

Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is completely molten at 160°C
other:
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
18-Sep-2017 to 02-Oct-2017

Test procedure:
other: Expert assessment
Remarks on result:
no reaction with water observed
Remarks:
Negative
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
A test item is considered highly flammable when it ignites spontaneously in contact with water, or evolves a flammable gas at a minimum rate of ¿ 1 litre/kg of the substance per hour. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with water and/or to the evolution of a flammable gas. In conclusion, Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride and propylidenetrimethanol is considered ¿not highly flammable¿ in contact with water.
