Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Although the substance is considered to have T properties and it was not possible to fully conclude on the P properties of the material, the high Log Pow of the substance (>6.5) is considered sufficiently high as to prevent the substance from becoming bioavailable.

As such the substance is not considered to have either the PBT or vPvB properties.

Persistence assessment: Solvent Red 19T was tested for biodegredability. The degradation rate was <10% after a test duration of 28 days. Based on screening level criteria, the test substance is considered persistent (P).

Bioaccumulation assessment:The predicted log (base 10) of the n-octanol/water partition coefficient for C.I. Solvent Red 19T was >10 and the measured value >6 (the limit of the test).

The bioaccumulation potential of C.I. Solvent Red 19T was assessed via an EpiSuite QSAR, and the predicted BCF (BCFBAF V3.01) for the main component was 10L/kg wet weight.   This, along with the high Kow indicates a low probability of the test material to bioconcentrate in fish.

Toxicity assessment:The material is classified STOT RE2 so meets the criteria for T.
