Preliminary test

A preliminary test was performed in the heating range from 25°C to 400°C with a heating rate of 20K/min. Next to the first endothermic heat effect, melting, a second endothermic heat effect, the boiling, was detected at 285.7°C. After the experiment, the sample had lost about 96% of its mass and the color of the sample was black and melted.

Boiling point determination (two main test runs)

In order to determine the boiling point more precisely, further DSC-runs were recorded between 200°C and 340°C (1st main test run) and 240°C and 360°C (2nd main test run) with a heating rate of 5 K/min. In the first main test run, the boiling point of T002251 was determined to be 317.4°C. The boiling of the test item during the second main test run was determined to be at 317.6°C. During these runs, the samples lost 88.6% and 93.4% of their mass, respectively. After the measurement both samples were melted and black in color.
Conclusions:
The mean boiling point of T002251 was determined to be 317.5°C +/- 0.2 under the conditions of the test.

In a GLP study according to OECD guideline 103 and EU method A.2 (K1, Tognucci, 2003) the boiling point of T002251 was determined to be 317.5°C.
