Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Although some measured data are available for category members, as they are UVCB substances with multiple constituents which will have different fate in the environment, persistence and bioaccumulation have been assessed using QSAR predictions for representative constituents. Based on this assessment, dimer, trimer and higher molecular weight constituents of all substances are considered to be persistent or very persistent. Some of the dimer constituents may meet the criteria as bioaccumulative, but none of them are very bioaccumulative. Trimer and higher molecular weight constituents are not considered to be bioaccumulative or very bioaccumulative. Based on measured ecotoxicity data for category members and assessment of human health classifications, they are not toxic.

Therefore, trimer and higher molecular weight constituents are potentially persistent but not bioaccumulative or toxic, and therefore are not PBT or vPvB. Dimer constituents are potentially persistent and some constituents may be bioaccumulative, but as they are not toxic they are not PBT and as they are not very bioaccumulative they are not vPvB.

Overall, constituents within terpenes and terpenoids substances are not PBT or vPvB and the substances are therefore not considered to be PBT or vPvB.

Likely routes of exposure:

Not relevant as substance is not PBT / vPvB.
