Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
migrated information: read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks on result:
other: The substance showed no exothermin reaction during heating from 20°C up to 400 °C at 99.3 kPa.

Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, the test substance showed no relevant exothermic reaction. The test item is ivory-colored and waxy. At the end of the measurement the test substance (no solvent) had run out of the sample cube, foamed and was black colored.

Conclusions:
In a test performed according to EU Method A.16, the test substance partially unsaturated IQAC, DMS quaternised no solvent was not auto-flammable.
Executive summary:

In a test performed according to EU Method A.16, the test substance partially unsaturated IQAC, DMS quaternised no solvent was not auto-flammable.

Description of key information

- study conducted according to EU Method A.16, GLP, heating of partially unsaturated IQAC, DMS quaternised (no solvent) was heated in an oven to 400 °C at a rate of about 0.5 °C/min, no exothermic reaction was detected, not auto-flammable, read-across

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a test performed according to EU Method A.16, the test substance partially unsaturated IQAC, DMS quaternised (no solvent) was not auto-flammable.
