Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
4 min
Remarks on result:
other:
Remarks:
Test item not propagate combustion along 200 mm of the pile within the 4 minutes test period (per EC A.10 guideline).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.
Executive summary:

In contact with the flame of the gas burner the test item glowed and turned into a black residue. White smoke was observed.  After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed.  According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required.

Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.
