EU Method A.1. – The melting point/freezing point of the test item was determined using the capillary method. The procedure employed was designed to be compatible with Method A.1. Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.
Aliquots of test item were placed in capillary tubes fused at one end and subjected to heating at a rate of 10 °C/min from a temperature of 215 °C. Heating was continued to 300 °C. The test was performed twice.
The mean melting temperature of the test item was established as being > 300 °C.

Visual assessment following completion of a each test showed unmelted powder which changed from a slight off-white colour to a dark tan colour.
