Additional information

Fatty acids, C18-unsaturated, 1,6 Hexanediol Diester (EC 947-912-3) is an UVCB substance. The substance is poorly soluble in water (WS: < 0.57 µg/L at 20 °C, pH 6.3). The Log Pow and log Koc values, estimated for two representative components of the UVCB, are >9. Based on experimental results from a standard biodegradation study, the substance is readily biodegradable according to guideline criteria (82.2% in 28 d; OECD 301B) and thus will be extensively removed from wastewater in conventional STPs. Abiotic degradation via hydrolysis is no relevant degradation pathway. Due to the low vapour pressure of the substance (VP: <0.0001 Pa at 20 °C) evaporation and subsequent transportation through the atmosphere is not likely. If the substance is released to the environment a distribution into sediment and soil is expected based on the substance characteristics.
