Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance is an organic, mono constituent substance. Water Accommodated Fractions (WAFs) were used to test effects at different effective loadings against fish and daphnia and no specific analysis was performed.

Fish: No toxic effects against fish were observed at the limit of water solubility under exposure conditions (96 h-LL0 >= 100 mg/L). The results are expressed in terms of Lethal Loadings (LL) (Caspers, 2001).

Daphnia: After 48 hours an EL-50 of higher than 100 mg/L was measured. The result is expressed in terms of Effective Loadings (EL). No toxic effects against Daphnia were observed at a limit test concentration at the limit of water solubility under exposure conditions (Shi, 2009).

Algae: An ErC50 of 1.002 mg/L was determined and a NOEC[r] of 0.163 mg/L was calculated after 72 hrs. Recovery rates ranged from 77.5 - 83.1 % of nominal values at 0 h, and from 52.6 - 89.4 % of nominal values at 72 hours, respectively (Weyers, 2007).

Microorganism: The substance showed 83.3 % respiration inhibition of activated sludge at a test item concentration of 320 mg/L. After 3 hours an EC50 of 64 mg/L was determined. Test concentrations are given as nominal concentrations and have not been confirmed by analytical methods (Neuhahn, 2006).

All toxicity studies mentioned above are classified as acceptable and satisfy the guideline requirements for the toxicity studies on acute toxicity to aquatic organisms.
