short-term toxicity to fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water, hence indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur

Description of key information

As Yb is only released in the low µg/L range, see TD test in IUCLID section 4.8, and available ecotoxicological studies with YbHfZrO2 in daphnia and algae did not reveal any adverse effects at nominal concentrations of 100 mg/L, toxic effects in fish are considered highly unlikely.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
