Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Key result
Remarks on result:
other: Aqueous solutions of the substance have no flash-point.
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The Pensky-Martens closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of an aqueous solution of the source chemical amphoacetates C12, a member of the chemical category, according to UN, EC, ISO and ASTM guidelines and according to GLP principles. As no flash-point was observed up to boiling of the test substance, it can be concluded that aqueous solutions of the source chemical and aqueous solutions of the registered substance (target substance), member of the same chemical category, have no flash-point.

Description of key information

Aqueous solutions of the registered substance have no flash-point.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The Pensky-Martens closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of an aqueous solution of a related member of the chemical category (amphoacetates C12), according to UN, EC, ISO and ASTM guidelines and according to GLP principles. No flash-point was observed up to boiling of the test substance. This result is read-across to the registered substance, member of the same chemical category.
