The likely environmental fate of the substance, if released to the aquatic environment, has been assessed based on the substances physico-chemical properties and relevant study data.
The substance has a high water solubility (325.6 mg/L) and has a relatively low octanol/water partition coefficient (log Pow 3.7). This indicates the substance is unlikely to partition out of the aquatic environment. However, as the substance is readily biodegradable the substance will not persist in the aquatic environment under environmentally relevant conditions.
The substance is considered to have low potential for adsorption to sediments or soils based on its partition coefficient and predicted adsorption coefficient(log Koc 3.28)and therefore is not expected to partition from the aquatic compartment into the sediment or soil compartments.
The substance has low potential for bioaccumulation in aquatic species based on its partition coefficient of log Pow 3.7.
The log Koa was also calculated from the available data to be 6.46. Based on the log Koa ≥ 5 in combination with a log Kow ≥ 2, the substance has the potential to biomagnify in terrestrial food chains and air-breathing marine wildlife as well as in humans.
