Endpoint:
activated sludge respiration inhibition testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water, hence indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur

Description of key information

In accordance with Annex VIII of REACH, Column 2, a study does not need to be conducted since the substance is poorly insoluble in water and the substance was found to be ready biodegradable.

Toxicity control conducted during the ready biodegradability study conducted in accordance with the OECD Testing Guideline 301F showed that the presence of 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) did not impact on the degradation of the reference substance, thus indicating that it was not toxic to aquatic microorganisms from the inoculum.
