Description of key information

No inhibition of the biodegradation process was recorded in the toxicity control at a concentration of 100 mg/L in a standard biodegradation study according to OECD 301F (GLP). Thus, in accordance with the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7b; Endpoint specific guidance (ECHA, 2017) a NOEC (14 d) of ≥ 100 mg/L was derived.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of the test substance to microorganisms was determined in a ready biodegradability study conducted according to OECD Guideline 301F (1994). A nominal concentration of 100 mg/L test substance plus 100 mg/L aniline (positive control) was incubated with activated sludge for 28 days under aerobic conditions, alongside an inoculum blank and a positive control. Oxygen consumption was measured electrolytically daily. The test substance is not toxic to microorganisms. This study is considered to be reliable without restriction (Klimisch 1).
