Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

- study conducted according to OECD guideline 302 C (12 May 1981), 28 days exposure of activated sludge with 30 mg of the test item, biodegradation of 37.8% within 28 days, calculated DOC-values between 0 and 53% degradation, read-across MDAB

Additional information

No data about biodegradation are available for the target substance Compimide 183. However, data are available from the source substance MDAB. A justification for read-across is attached to the robust study summary.

Biodegradation in water:screening test:

In a study conducted according to OECD guideline 302C (Modified MITI Test; adopted 12 May 1981) activated sewage sludge was incubated with 30 mg of the test item for 28 days. Inoculated flasks were incubated on a BSB 1000 and BSB601 apparatus. The CO2 was adsorbed by NaOH and the resulting drop was measured on a manometer. Manometer readings for each bottle were recorded once a day for 28 days. COD was measured and BOD/ThOD values were calculated. Measured BOD/ThOD values relvealed a biodegradation of 37.8% within 28 days, whereas the calculated DOC-values were between 0 and 53% degradation. MDAB is regarded to be not readily or inherently biodegradable.
