PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- Method: A stock solution with 10 g per litre of the product was prepared by using ultrasound. The correponding aliquots were taken from this suspension. Appropriate aliquots were pipetted into the test vessel and filled up to final volumes of 5 L with standard dilution water.

Additional information

As there are no data available for alcohol ethoxylate C16, <2.5EO (CAS 9004-95-9) the acute toxicity to fish is assessed on the basis of data from a study with a similar alcohol ethoxylate (C16 -18 and C18 -unsaturated mixture, <2.5EO, CAS 68920-66-1) (BASF, 2008). In the non-GLP study zebrafish (Danio rerio) were exposed to different concentrations of the mixture for 96 hours. The study was conducted according to a method that conforms to the OECD-guideline 203. After 96 h a LC50 value of 108 mg test substance/L could be determined.
