Experimental value of 3.41 has been obtained in unbuffered solution. The calculated value is 4.5. These differences illustrate the difficulties in establishing log Pow values for the esters of chemically modified rosins, i.e. chemically modified UVCB substances. Although relatively consistent with one another, the experimental values for log Pow has been preferred to an averaged value or the calculated value.
