- Key result
- Test procedure:
- burning rate test: preliminary screening test
- Moisture (wt %):
- 0.59
- Remarks on result:
- other: The test substance melted, no smouldering, propagation or isolated flame observed. From the preliminary screening test results, the test substance was seen not to ignite and therefore no further testing was required.
- Interpretation of results:
- other: Not classified based on CLP criteria
- Conclusions:
- Under the study conditions, the test substance was considered to be not highly flammable.
- Executive summary:
A study was conducted to determine the flammability of the test substance according to EU A.10 Method, in compliance with GLP. In a preliminary test, the test sample melted, but no propagation or smouldering was observed. From the results of the preliminary screening test, the test substance was found not to ignite and therefore the study author concluded that no further testing was required. Under the study conditions, the test substance was considered to be not highly flammable (Chilworth, 2017).

Additional information
Justification for classification or non-classification
In a preliminary test, the test sample melted, but no propagation or smouldering was observed. From the results of the preliminary screening test, the test substance was found not to ignite and therefore the study author concluded that no further testing was required. Based on the study result, the test substance was considered not to warrant classification for flammability according to the EU CLP criteria (Regulation 1272/2008/EC).
