Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to Annex VII of the REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006), a study for explosive properties does not need to be conducted if an organic substance contains chemical groups associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500 °C.

In a DSC assay, an exothermic peak was recorded between 260 and 330 °C (first exp.) and between 250 and 330 °C (second exp.). The energy release was 73.45 J/g and 81.50 J/g, respectively.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The screening procedure on Acid Red 057 excluded a potential for explosive properties based on the thermal behaviour; thus no classification applies within the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008).
