Conclusion on classification

Testosterone is classified as Aquatic Acute Tox 1 according to CLP based on observed effects to growth rate of aquatic algae.

Available study data indicate a 72 -hr Algal ECr50= 0.7 mg/L.

Acute and long term data are also available for aquatic invertebrates (daphnia magna) (Barbosa, et al 2008). No effects were observed in 48 -hr acute toxicity test, however, significant effects were observed after 21 days exposure (NOEC=0.1 mg/L; LOEC=0.31mg/L).

Testosterone is classified as Aquatic Acute Tox 1 (H400) according to (EC) No 1272/2008 CLP based on observed effects to growth rate of aquatic algae.
