No melting temperature was found between 0°C and decomposition of the test item, starting at about 200°C.

Observed thermic processes:

After Test 1 the test item was not molten up and did not show any visual change. This was a clear indication that the observed endothermic peak at 138°C peak temperature and the registered weight loss of 1.8 % showed the vaporization of volatile components of the test item. After Test 2 the test item was not molten up. It was sintered and the color changed into black. This was a clear indication that the observed exothermic area starting at about 200°C with the registered weight loss of 11.4 % showed the decomposition of the test item. The small endothermic maximum in the 2"d heating at about 120°C to 160°C might be the melting of a secondary component, but not of the test item itself, because the test item was powdery as before after Test 1. These observations are confirmed by the preliminary TG/DSC-Test (non-GLP).

The study with the read-across substance showed no melting temperature between 0 °C and decomposition of the test item, starting at about 200 °C.

Description of key information

Melting point is not determined for the substance as decomposition was observed at temperatures >200 °C in the study with the read-across substance. This is expected also for the registered substance.
