Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Long-term EC10, LC10 or NOEC for soil macroorganisms:
173 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

A test according to OECD guideline 207 was conducted over 14 days in treated artificial soil testing effect of Chlorophene (CAS 120-32-1) on the earthworm Eisenia fetida (Lührs, 2007). Different concentrations (control, 57.7, 100, 173, 300, and 520 mg/kg dw soil) of the test item were mixed homogeneously into the soil which was filled in glass vessels before the earthworms were introduced on top of the soil. Four replicates per concentration with 10 worms each were used. The assessment of worm mortality and behavioural effects were after 7 and 14 days, measurement of weight change as sublethal parameter after 14 days. Chlorophene showed inhibitory effects on earthworms. Fifty percent of inhibition was determined at LC50 = 428 mg a.i./kg dw soil. The NOEC was determined to be at NOEC = 173 mg a.i./kg dry weight soil.
