Description of key information

According to the Column 2 of the Annex VIII of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, hydrolysis as a function of pH test does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Pidolic Acid has been determined to be readily biodegradable (OECD 301 Ready Biodegradability; Laboratoire de Chimie-Ecotoxicologie 402/16/1215F/a-e; Jequel, M; 2017) and therefore this test is not required.

According to the Column 2 of the Annex VIII of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, adsorption/desorption screening test does not need to be  conducted If the substance has a low potential of adsorption. The Log Pow determined for this substance is -1.233 (20ºC, pH = 7) (DNAL; Norris, D; 2017) and it is not pH dependent. Therefore adsorption/desorption screening test is not required.
