Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:

Triplicate samples of AP 729 were prepared for the analysis and the individual values observed were 68.986 mN/m, 69.234 mN/m and 69.192 mN/m for replicates R1, R2 and R3 respectively at 20.0ºC.

The observed values were corrected using the mean water calibration correction factor of 1.0019. The initially corrected mean surface tension of test item resulted to be 69.270 mN/m.

This value was further corrected as per Harkins-Jordan table and the surface tension of test item was found to be 68.776 mN/m.

All details are provided in Table 2 below:

Conclusions:
The surface tension of a 90% saturation solution of AP 729 was found to be 68.776 mN/m at 20.0ºC.
Executive summary:

The surface tension of AP 729 was determined according to OECD Guideline 115 (OECD harmonized ring method).

The calibration of the interfacial tensiometer was performed using water.

Since the solubility of the test item does not exceed 1 g/L, a 90% saturation solution was used for the analysis.
Triplicate samples were prepared and the individual values were measured at 20ºC. The observed values were corrected with the mean water calibration correction factor and the corrected mean surface tension of test item resulted to be 69.270 mN/m.
This value was further corrected as per Harkins-Jordan table and the surface tension of test item was found to be 68.776 mN/m.

Description of key information

The surface tension of AP 729 was determined according to OECD Guideline 115 (OECD harmonized ring method).

Since the solubility of the test item does not exceed 1 g/L, a 90% saturation solution was used for the analysis.
Triplicate samples were prepared and the individual values were measured at 20ºC.
The corrected mean surface tension value was further corrected as per Harkins-Jordan table: the surface tension of test item was found to be 68.776 mN/m.
