Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mix.: When heated to decomposition or under fire conditions it could be emitted toxic fumes.
Advice for firefighters: Fire fighters should use self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Isolate the area. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions : Should not be released into the environment. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up :
Large spills + Small spills: Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Treat recovered material as described in the section "Disposal considerations".
Large spills: Dam up. Soak up with inert absorbent material. Keep in properly labelled containers.
Small spills: Gently cover the spill with an absorbent towel or pad.

Handling and storage

The substance is an intermediate used under strictly controlled conditions.
Precautions for safe handling::
minimize dust formation and avoid accumulation on surfaces; use antistatic equipment and clothing and prevent dust contact with possible ignition sources; avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Remove contaminated clothes and wash thoroughly after handling.

Conditions for safe storage / incompatibilities: Use container tightly closet and resistant, away from moisture and sunlight. Avoid contact with air and light. Properly label containers in case of pouring and clean external container surfaces with proper detergents and /or solvents.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures : All personal protective equipment should be based on a risk assessment. Consult a Environment Health Safety expert if necessary. Engineering controls should be used as the primary means to control possible exposures.

Personal protective equipment :
Eye protection : Face-shield
Hand protection material : Neoprene
Remarks : Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact). Impervious gloves

Skin and body protection : closed work clothing chemical resistant apron, coat or coverall. Boots

Respiratory protection : Engineering controls should always be the primary method of controlling exposures. If respiratory protective equipment is needed for certain activities, the type as well as the corresponding protection factor will depend upon the risk assessment and air concentrations, hazards, physical and warning properties of substances present. Use only respiratory protection that conforms to international/ national standards. Respirator with a vapour filter ABEK

Protective measures : The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace. The type of protective equipment must be selected based on the Environmental Health and Safety risk assessment. Consult a Environmental Health and Safety expert if necessary.

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable under the normal conditions of use and storage.

Disposal considerations

Dispose waste according to local regulations.
