EC number: 947-741-4 | CAS number: -
NOEC for adult emergence and larval growth was >200 mg/L, NOEC for egg production was >100 mg/L. Test concentration <= 200 mg/L: pupation and adult emergence up to and including day 22
Test concentration > 200 mg/L: pupation and adult emergence on day 30
Following effect concentrations were calculated: parameter EC50 [mg/L] 95% confidence limits F0 hatchability 551.8 370.9 - 1175.4 F0 pupation 298.1 287.1 - 308.8 F0 adult emergence 274.2 264.9 - 283.9 F1 egg production 364.9 311.6 - 455.8
The effects on adult emergence are not interpreted as toxic effects, but rather are related to the physical properties of the test material as they settled to the bottom of the test chamber. Inhibition of larval growth is discussed as generalised response of the midges to adverse environmental conditions, and here probably reflects a growth lag resulting from the ingestion of the nonnutritive zeolite particulates during feedings.
