Additional information

N-[3 (triethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (CAS 5089-72-5) exhibits a low vapour pressure and low volatility, indicating that the substance will not tend to evaporate from the water surface. Therefore, photodegradation is not an important degradation pathway. Nevertheless, if emitted into the air, N-[3 (triethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (CAS 5089-72-5) will be rapidly photodegraded (estimated half-life of 0.11 days for indirect photodegradation, OH-radicals). Once released into the water phase, hydrolysis contributes significantly to the degradation of this substance (half-life 165 min at room temperature and pH 7). N-[3 (triethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine and its silanol hydrolysis product have only low potential for adsorption to solid particles based on low log Koc values (< 3).
