Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

A waiving statement has been prepared by Charles River Laboratories based on the structure of the substance and their experience of handling and use.

A test item is considered pyrophoric when it ignites within five minutes of coming in contact with air.

The test item contains a Zn group. The group is relatively small compared to the molecular structure of the test item. Based on this the test item is considered to pose no risk on ignition in contact with air. Moreover, the test item was handled under normal laboratory conditions during this project. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite in contact with air at room temperature.

In conclusion, the test item has no pyrophoric properties.
