Fire-fighting measures

Flammable properties

Flash point: > 93.33 °C (> 199.99 °F)

Method: closed cup

Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet

Specific hazards during fire fighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses. Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire

Specific extinguishing methods: Standard procedure for chemical fires.

Further information: Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material. Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear personal protective equipment.

Conditions for safe storage: Store in original container. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
