As a result of the hazard assessment it can be concluded that the test substance does neither meet the criteria for classification as hazardous to the environment nor is the substance PBT/vPvB.

Conclusion on classification

1-methyl-1-phenylethyl peroxyneodecanoate was tested according to OECD 301B to be readily biodegradable.

Based on the results of the acute toxicity tests to aquatic organisms (most sensitive species D. magna with a 48-hr EC50 of 3.8 mg/L), and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP (GHS), 1-methyl-1-phenlyethyl peroxyneodecanoate is not classified with respect to acute and chronic ecotoxicity.
