Administrative data
First-aid measures
Protect yourself and any casualty from further exposure during decontamination. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Remove contaminated clothing.
- Following inhalation:
Remove persons affected by vapour to fresh air. Keep patient at rest and give oxygen if breathing difficult. Apply artificial respiration if necessary (do not employ mouth-to-mouth method). Appropriate mechanical means should be used (Pneupac or bag and mask). Seek medical treatment.
- Following skin contact:
Wash affected skin with plenty water. Seek medical treatment.
- Following eye contact:
Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first five minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Seek medical treatment.
- Following ingestion:
If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do not induce vomiting. Keep patient at rest. Seek medical treatment.
- Most important symptoms and effects:
May cause irritation to skin, eyes and respiratory system.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguish with waterspray, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Water spray should be used to cool containers.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Combustion causes toxic fumes. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire.
Combustion products: Carbon monoxide. Hydrogen bromide.
- Advice for fire fighter:
A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing should be worn in fire conditions. Prevent substance entering sewers. Contain effluent and prevent effluent from entering sewers and waterways.
Accidental release measures
Ensure suitable personal protection (including respiratory protection) during removal of spillages.
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Use non-sparking equipment. Follow site emergency procedures.
- Environmental precautions:
Avoid release to the environment. Contain effluent and prevent effluent from entering sewers and waterways.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Eliminate sources of ignition. Evacuate area. Use only non-sparking tools. Provided it is safe to do so, isolate the source of the leak. Contain and adsorb large spillages onto an inert, non flammable adsorbent carrier. Sweep up carefully with non-sparking tools. Transfer to a container for disposal.
Handling and storage
Use only in well-ventilated areas. Avoid inhalation of vapours. Avoid direct contact with the substance. Use non-sparking hand tools and explosion proof electrical equipment. Keep away from sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Wear suitable protective clothing.

Keep container tightly closed, in a cool, well ventilated place. Keep containers properly sealed when not in use. Keep only in original container. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Provide adequate ventilation when using the material and follow the principles of good occupational hygiene to control personal exposures. Provide adequate ventilation to avoid build up of vapours.
2. Organisational protection measures
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after using the product. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Gloves: Nitrile rubber. Glove performance is governed by many variables over which we have no control, we strongly recommend that you seek specialist advice on the selection and use of protective gloves. Note: Break-through times can vary depending on thickness, use and source. Change gloves regularly.

Chemical resistant boots - anti-static footwear; safety boots, riggers or safety wellingtons

Wear suitable protective clothing, impervious gloves and boots. Chemical protection suit, boots and nitrile gloves
