The flammability potential of the test substance has been assayed following the testing procedures outlined into the EU method A.10. The test item was spread on a non-combustible, non-porous and low heat-conducting base plate in the form of a rope 250 mm in length with a cross section of about 1 cm2. The flame from a gas burner was applied to one end of the powder train for 2 minutes. The burning of the pile was observed. The test was performed twice.
In the preliminary experiment, the test item could not be ignited, thus no further investigation was performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification
According to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), 2.7 section, flammable solids, powdered, granular or pasty substances or mixtures shall be classified as readily combustible solids when the time of burning of one or more of the test runs, performed in accordance with the test method described in Part III, sub-section 33.2.1, of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, is less than 45 seconds or the rate of burning is more than 2.2 mm/s.
In the flammability test performed, the substance did not propagate burning of a 200 mm length of the strip in less than four minutes, thus the substance resulted non flammable.
In conclusion, Disperse Red 054 does not meet the criteria to be classified as flammable, according to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008).
