Results
Preliminary Test
Three test mixtures with the test item and cellulose 2:1 could not be
ignited. A charring in the area of the ignition source was observed.
Three test mixtures with barium nitrate/cellulose 2:1 burned down
completely in 60 s, 57 s and 56 s, respectively.
Main Test
Four tests were performed for the reference mixture (barium nitrate and
cellulose) with different wt. % oxidizer (barium nitrate), see Table 1.

The highest burning rate of 1.80 mm/s was found for the mixture with 60 wt. % oxidizer.
Mixtures of the test item with cellulose were prepared in between 10 and 90 wt. % of the test item and tested (Table 2).

Because all mixtures of the test item with cellulose could not be ignited, two tests were performed with the mixtures with 10, 20 and 30 wt. % of the test item to verify these results (Table 3).

Due to the fact that the mixture of the test item with cellulose burned slower (no ignition) compared to the reference mixture, it was concluded that the test item has no oxidizing properties.

The maximum burning rate of test item and cellulose mixture was slower (no ignition) than that of the reference mixture of barium nitrate and cellulose 2:1 (1.80 mm/s).
Justification for classification or non-classification
The available data on oxidizing properties of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC, and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification: The maximum burning rate of the test mixture was less than that of the reference mixture (barium nitrate and cellulose 2:1) in a test according to the EU method A.17.
