Explosiveness: Non explosive (EU Method A.14)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The explosivity property of the substance was assessed in accordance with EU Test Method A.14 and in compliance with GLP. A small amount (40 µL) of the test substance was subjected to the effect of a shock (mechanical sensitivity) by means of a metallic device. No mechanical sensitivity was observed during the six assays. Similarly, the test substance was loaded into a tube to a height of 60 mm, heating of the tube was by using of propane which is fitted with a pressure regulator through a meter and evenly distributed by a manifold to four burners. Six negative assays were obtained using nozzle plates with a hole of 6 mm and 2 mm diameters.

Therefore, under the conditions of the study, the substance does not present a danger of explosion.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is not classified for explosivity on the basis of measured explosivity study in accordance with EU Method A.14.
