Key result
Parameter:
other: Thermal stability (DSC measurements)
Remarks on result:
other: The test item had no explosive properties.
Remarks:
The heat of decompsotion was below 500 J/g, thus no main test was required.

Thermal stability

A DSC measurement in a closed high pressure glass crucible with the test item showed endothermal effects in the temperature ranges of 60 - 120 °C and 185 - 255 °C and two exothermal effects. The first exothermal effect occurred in the temperature range of 265 - 390 °C with an energy of 186 J/g. The second exothermal effect in the temperature range of 440 - 475 °C showed an energy of 60 J/g. The measurement was terminated at 500 °C.

A second DSC measurement in a closed glass crucible with the test item showed endothermal effects in the temperature ranges of 65 - 105 °C, 180 - 265 °C and 370 - 440 °C and two exothermal effects. The first exothermal effect occurred in the temperature range of 270 - 370 °C with an energy of 203 J/g. The second exothermal effect in the temperature range of 440 - 470 °C showed an energy of 49 J/g. The measurement was terminated at 500 °C.

Explosive properties

The heat of decomposition in the DCS measurements was below 500 J/g.Therefore, the main test on explosive properties was not necessary.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item is not explosive.
Executive summary:

The test item had no explosive properties in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.14.

The heat of decomposition in the DCS measurements was below 500 J/g.Therefore, the main test on explosive properties was not necessary.
