First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
General notes:
If the body is covered with the substance, wash with plenty of water.

Following inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Seek medicaladvice/attention.

Following skin contact:
Wash with soap and water. Ask for medical advice, if skin is irritated. Remove and washcontaminated clothing before reuse.

Following eye contact:
Rinse cautiously eyes with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if presentand easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call an eye doctor if necessary.

Following ingestion:
Rinse mouth, then drink plenty of water and induce vomiting. Seek medical advice/attention.

Notes for the doctor:
Persons who have been in contact with the substance or have inhaled dust should getimmediate medical attention. Pass on all available product information.

Most important symptoms andeffects, both acute and delayed:
Cough. Red eyes. Red skin. Stomachache. Nausea. Vomit. Diarrhea.

Indication of immediate medicalattention and special treatment needed:
Wash the body with plenty of water. Effects of exposure (inhalation, ingestion or skincontact) to the substance may be delayed.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media:
Water. Carbon dioxide. Dry chemical. Foam. Sand.

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Hazardous combustion products:

Advice for fire-fighters:

Use self-contained breathing apparatus. According to size of fire, wear appropriateprotectors.

Additional information:

Flammable Properties: Not combustible.Special exposure hazards: Not Applicable

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, pprotective equipment and emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel Protective equipment:
Avoid direct contact with the substance. Avoid breathing dust.

Exposure controls:
Appropriate engineering controls:
Provid adequate cleaning. Use adequate ventilation system or closed system. Placeadequate washing system for eyes, skin and body.

Product related measures to preventexposure: -

Structural measures to prevent exposure: -

Organizational measures to preventexposure: -

Technical measures to prevent exposure: -

Personal protection equipment:
Eye and face protection:
Chemical goggles and face shield.

Skin protection
Hand protection: Wear suitable gloves.
Body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing, cap and shoes.

Other protection:

Respiratory protection: Dust respirator.

Thermal hazards: None.

Removal of ignition sources, provision ofsufficient ventilation, control of dust:
Ventilate the area sufficiently until disposal ends in case of indoor.

Emergency procedures:
Keep unauthorized personnel away. Stay upwind. Ventilate enclosed areas. Work fromwindward wearing protective equipment regularly.

For emergency responders:
Wear chemical protective clothing and self contained breathing apparatus.Appropriate material: acid-resistant.

Environmental precautions:
Avoid contamination of drains, surface or subterranean water and soil. In the case of largescale spills or when the substance contaminates lakes, rivers or sewages, inform theappropriate authorities in accordance with local regulations.

For containment:
Keep the remains in appropriate container.

For cleaning up:
Gather spills, and mop up with cloth. Keep the remains in appropriate container. If plenty ofthe substance have entered water or drains, neutralize with alkalis and add CaCl2 into thepolluted water or drains, and precipitate insoluble CaWO4. In this case, be carefule not toflow into the open waters.

Handling and storage

Precaution for safe handling

Information on safe handling:
Comply with the health and safety at work laws.Avoid any type of leakage or escape, Keep the container tightly closed. Avoid the formationof dust. Use local exhaust ventilation while handling.

Information on aerosol/dust generationand fire/explosion protection: Not applicable.

Measures to prevent handling ofincompatible substances or mixtures: Keep away from alkals, especially ammonia gas.

Measures to minimize the release of thesubstance or mixture to the environment:
Avoid any spillage in the environment. In the case of accidental spillage, follow theinstructions indicated in section 6. Avoid contact with the iron equipments, because therewill be rusted.

Advice on general occupational hygiene:
Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling. After handling, wash hands and face with soapand water.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Technical measures and storageconditions:
Avoid the direct rays of the sun. Keep container tightly closed and dry in a dark, cool, andwell-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of heat.

Packaging materials:
According to current legislation. Use corrosive resistant/stainless steel, plastic or glasscontainer.

Requirements for storage rooms andvessels:
Avoid the direct rays of the sun. Keep container tightly closed and dry in a dark, cool, andwell-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of heat.

Storage class:
According to VCI concept, VCI storage class: LGK 8B (Non-combustible corrosivesubstances)

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

Components with occupational exposure limits

The nuisance dust limit value is to be kept.

8.2. Exposure controls
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection:
Breathing protection if breathable aerosols/dust are formed. Particle filter with medium efficiency for solid and liquid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P2 or FFP2)

Hand protection:
Suitable chemical resistant safety gloves (EN 374) also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374): E.g. nitrile rubber (0.4 mm), chloroprene rubber (0.5 mm), butyl rubber (0.7 mm) etc.

Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)

General safety and hygiene measures
Wearing of closed work clothing is required additionally to the stated personal protection equipment. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Hands and/or face should be washed before breaks and at the end of the shift. At the end of the shift the skin should be cleaned and skin-care agents applied.

Stability and reactivity

10.1. Reactivity

Corrosion to metals:
Corrosive effects to metal are not anticipated.
Formation of flammable gases: Remarks: Forms no flammable gases in the presence of water.

10.2. Chemical stability

10.3. Possibility of hazardous reactions

10.4. Conditions to avoid
Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks, open flame.

10.5. Incompatible materials

Substances to avoid:
strong bases

10.6. Hazardous decomposition products

Disposal considerations

13.1. Waste treatment methods

Incinerate in suitable incineration plant, observing local authority regulations.

Waste key:
07 02 08¤ other still bottoms and reaction residues

Contaminated packaging:
Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible; then it can be passed on for recycling after being thoroughly cleaned.
