RESULTS

The surface tension of the test item aqueous solution read on the instrument was 71.5 mN/m at 21°C ± 0.5°C using the ring method representing the mean of five measurements. The measured values were corrected with Harkins-Jordan correction factor.

The measured surface tension was multiplied by Φb resulting in a corrected surface tension of 72.1 mN/m.

As the surface tension value was higher than 60 mN/m, α,α’-Dichloro-p-xylene is classified as a non-surface active substance.

Conclusions:
The measured surface tension was multiplied by Φb resulting in a corrected surface tension of 72.1 mN/m.
As the surface tension value was higher than 60 mN/m, α,α’-Dichloro-p-xylene is classified as a non-surface active substance.
Executive summary:

The determination of the surface tension was carried out on the test item, with the use of a Krüss K11 Tensiometer by ring method. The value was found to be 72.1 mN/m at 21°C ± 0.5°C.

As the surface tension value was higher than 60 mN/m, α,α’-Dichloro-p-xylene is classified as a non-surface active substance.
