Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
> 4 min
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test item EDA-DOPO is considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), respectively.
Executive summary:

First, a safety test was performed. A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner in order to derive safety precautions. The test item melted to yellow liquid that burned with yellow flame and smoke.

In the preliminary screening test following the EU method and UN method, the test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. The test item melted to yellow liquid and the liquid coloured the flame slightly yellowish. No signs of flammability were observed within two minutes.

Therefore, the test itemEDA-DOPOshould be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations).

Description of key information

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The respective GHS-criteria are not met. Therefore EDA-DOPO is considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), respectively.
