Test material

Constituent 1
Chemical structure
Reference substance name:
6-[2-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethyl]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine
EC Number:
254-074-6
EC Name:
6-[2-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethyl]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine
Cas Number:
38668-46-1
Molecular formula:
C9H13N7
IUPAC Name:
6-[2-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethyl]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine
Test material form:
solid: particulate/powder
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Please note that samples named 2MZ-A and 2MZA-PW are the same substance; 2MZA-PW is the crushed version of the substance.
The Applicant assumed that the crushed version of the substance would be more hazardous on some endpoints and therefore, that sample was used for some of the physicochemical studies.

Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

Preliminary screening test results

In the preliminary screening test, the test flame was applied for over two minutes. The heated part of the sample melts after about 30 seconds. Were observed a little flame and the formation of a crust around 2 mm thick.

When the test flame was removed, were noted little flames that extinguished after few seconds. No propagation was observed.

The preliminary screening test was performed in duplicate and the similar observations were obtained in both test.

The test sample should not be considered as readily flammable and no further burning rate test is required.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
According to test method A.10, the test sample should not be considered as readily flammable.
