Additional information

Measured short term toxicity data read-across from the structural analogue 1-methyl-N,N',N''-tris(1-methylpropyl)silanetriamine (CAS 37697-65-7) are available for fish, invertebrates and algae.

The key values are:

Fish:

A 96-hour LL50 value of >100 mg/L and NOELR of ≥100 mg/L have been determined for the effects of the test substance on mortality of Brachydanio rerio (highest concentration tested), in compliance with OECD guideline 203. The results are expressed in terms of nominal loading rates of the substance. It is likely that the fish would have been exposed to the hydrolysis products of the test substance.

Invertebrates:

A 48-hour EC50 value of >3.75 mg/l (nominal) (highest concentration tested) has been determined for effects of the test substance on mobility of Daphnia magna, in compliance with OECD guideline 202. No effects were observed in the test. In view of the rapid hydrolysis rate of the test substance and the test preparation methods, it is likely that the Daphnia would have been exposed to the hydrolysis products of the test substance.

Algae:

A 72-hour EC50 value of >2.5 mg/l and a NOEC of 2.5 mg/l (nominal) (highest concentration tested) have been determined for effects of the test substance on growth rate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, in compliance with OECD guideline 201. In view of the rapid hydrolysis rate of the test substance and the test preparation methods, it is likely that the algae would have been exposed to the hydrolysis products of the test substance.
