Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Short-term toxicity to fish

In an acute toxicity study (Evonik Goldschmidt, 2005) conducted according to OECD 203 (1992) with rainbow trouts (Oncorhynchus mykiss) the 96-h LC50 of the surrogate test substance was determined to be 1.91 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

In the static immobilization test (BASF SE, 1998), young Daphnia magna STRAUSS (6- 24 h old) were exposed to the test item for 48 hours according to Directive (EC) No 92/69/C2 (1992). After 48 hours the EC50 of the test substance (Purity = 80 %) was determined to be 0.77 mg/L and the EC50 of the pure test item (Purity = 100 %) was determined to be 0.616 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

The toxicity of the test substance to the freshwater alga Scenedesmus subspicatus was determined in a test (BASF SE, 2004) according to the principles of OECD 201 (1984) under GLP conditions. After 72 h the calculated the calculated ErC10 and ErC50 values were determined to be 0.96 and 2.14 mg/L, respectively. The NOEC for growth rate was 0.65 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic microorganisms

The toxic effects of the registered substance ( (EC 293-018-5) on the oxygen consumption rate of Pseudomonas putida after a short-term exposure of 30 min was determined in a study (BASF SE, 1998) according to DIN 38412, Part 27 (1992) under GLP conditions. After 30 min following toxicity values based on nominal concentrations were determined for the test substance (Purity = 80 %): The EC0 (NOEC) was determined to be 30 mg/L, the EC10 was determined to be 37 mg/L and the EC50 was determined to be 75 mg/L. The corresponding values based on nominal concentrations for the test item with purity of 100 % were determined to be after 30 min as following: The EC0 (NOEC) was determined to be 24 mg/L, the EC10 for the test substance was determined to be 29.6 mg/L and the EC50 was determined to be 60 mg/L.
