First-aid measures

General advice:
If exposed or concerned: get medical advice/attention.

Inhalation:
If inhaled, remove person to fresh air; keep warm and comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

Skin contact:
Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact:
In the case of contact with eyes, rinse cautiously with water for 15 minutes at least. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: get medical advice/attention.

Ingestion:
If swallowed, rinse mouth; call a POISON CENTER/seek medical advice immediately and show the SDS or label.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, appropriate foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing agents:
Unknown.

Special exposure hazards:
In the event of fire, may produce toxic fumes that are irritating and contain carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and other hazardous substances.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suitable clothes. Equipment must be conformed with EN criteria.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions:
Alert and restrict entry. Do not enter the contaminated area without suitable protective equipment such as suitable disposable clothes with long sleeves, apposite gloves, safety goggles, safety shoes and half mask or face mask (all used masks are EC certified). Keep away from/remove sources of ignition.

Enviromental Precautions:
Collect the spillage. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Do not allow under any circumstances to reach drains, surface water and ground water.

Methods for cleaning or taking up:
Spray powder with water to prevent the formation of dust. Take up mechanically and fill into suitable labelled, closed bags/containers.

Handling and storage

Handling:
The substance should be only used as intermediate under strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, (a) the substance should be rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle including cleaning and maintenance of equipment, sampling, analysis, loading and unloading of equipment or vessels, waste disposal or purification and storage; (b) procedural and control technologies shall be used that minimise emission and any resulting exposure; (c) only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance; (d) in the case of cleaning and maintenance works, special procedures such as purging and washing are applied before the system is opened and entered; (e) in cases of accident and where waste is generated, procedural and/or control technologies are used to minimise emissions and the resulting exposure during purification or cleaning and maintenance procedures; (f) substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.

Storage:
Keep in closed containers in cool, ventilated area; protected from moisture, high temperatures and sources of ignition. Store away from sources of ignition or incompatible materials. Use leak-proof containers which should also be suitably labelled; check regularly for leaks and spills.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure control:

Personal protection:
Personal protective equipment, such as suitable disposable clothes with long sleeves, apposite gloves, safety goggles, safety shoes and half mask/face mask (all used masks are EC certified), should be worn in the event of accident or for cleaning/maintenance procedures.

Stability and reactivity

Stability:
Stable; avoid static discharges.

Incompatibilities:
Strong oxidizing agents, strong bases and strong acids.

Hazardous decomposition products:
Thermal decomposition and burning may produce carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and other toxic gases and vapours.

Disposal considerations

The substance is registered as intermediate under strictly controlled conditions. This topic is described in the attached document RMM_details under section 13.

Comply with all local, regional, national and European regulations on the hazardous waste.

The substance and contaminated packages/materials (e.g. contaminated PPE/filters) should be directed to an authorized disposal plant.
