Description of key information

In a repeated open-epicutaneous application to the albino guinea pig following the method according to Draize no indication of a skin irritating potential of 1-beta-hydroxyethyl-2,5-diaminobenzene dihydrochloride tested at a 3% aqueous solution in a repeated application assay in Guinea pigs was noted. The substance 2-(2,5 -diaminophenyl)ethanol sulfate (1:1) is assigned a skin irritation classification as a precautionary measure.

Under the conditions of the test performed according to OECD guideline 405, undiluted 2-(2,5-diaminophenyl)ethanol sulfate (Betoxol) was irritant to the rabbit eye.
