Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to REACH Regulation (Annex VIII, 9.2.2.1, column 2), the study on adsorption/desorption does not need to be done if based on physico-chemical properties (e.g. low n-octanol/water partition coefficient log Pow) a low soil sorption is to be expected or based on the biodegradation the substance itself and his relevant degradation products break down quickly. The test item has a log Pow<1 and proved to be readily biodegradable with 94.4 % mineralization found after 28 d incubation in a GLP-conform guideline study performed according to OECD Guidelines. Any further experimental testing is therefore not necessary for this endpoint.
