Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The 7 day ErC10 and ErC50 (growth rate) was determined to be >91.817 mg/L (initial mean measured). The EyC10 and EyC50 (yield) was determined to be >91.817 mg/L (initial mean measured).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater plants:
91.817 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater plants:
91.817 mg/L

Additional information

In a 7 day growth inhibition study, Lemna gibba were exposed to the test item at nominal concentrations of 0 (control), 10, 22, 46 100, 220 mg/L and initial measured concentrations of 0 (control), 2.517, 6.892, 16.225, 36.043, 91.817 mg/L under static conditions in accordance with the OECD 221 guideline and GLP principles. The water pH and temperature were within acceptable guideline specifications. Plant growth (as frond number) and phytotoxic effects were observed on day 2, 5 and test termination. Percent growth inhibition relative to the control was calculated for each test concentration based upon growth rates and final yield for the parameters frond number and plant dry weight. The 7 day ErC50 values for the growth rate based on initial concentrations were >91.817 mg/L, both based on frond number and on dry weight. The EyC50 for the yield was determined to be >91.817 mg/L, both based on based on frond number and dry weight. All validity criteria of the guideline were fulfilled (BASF SE, 2018).
