Description of key information

In a 3-hours Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test an EC10 of 110 mg/L (95% CL: 64.2-196.2) and an EC50 of 360 mg/L (95%-CL: 277.0 – 470.0) were determined for the test substance.

Additional information

A 3-hours Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test was conducted according to OECD guideline 209 (BASF 08G0495/14G370, 2015). Activated sludge from a municipal wastewater treatment plant was exposed to the nominal test substance concentrations of 62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 100 mg/L  (without correction of purity of the test substance). 3,5 dichlorophenol was used as a positive control and blank controls were included in the test. After 3 hours of exposure the inhibition of oxygen consumption was determined. The EC50 of 3,5-dichlorophenol was 5.9 mg/L. For the test substance an EC10 of 110 mg/L (95% CL: 64.2-196.2) and an EC50 of 360 mg/L (95%-CL: 277.0 – 470.0) were determined.
