On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, [1R-(1α, 2α, 5β, 8β)]-4, 4, 8-trimethyltricyclo [6.3.1.02, 5] dodecan-1 -yl acetate was determine to be a colourless to yellowish liquid.
Freezing point:
The Freezing point determination of [1R-(1α ,2α ,5β,8β)]-4,4,8- trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate (CAS No.57082-24-3) was done using crushed ice and salt. No freezing was observed up to -6.16°C. Hence, the freezing point was inferred to be less than -6.16 °C at 964.5hPa.
Boiling Point:
The boiling point determination of Test item [1R-(1α ,2α ,5β,8β)]-4,4,8- trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate (CAS No. 57082-24-3) was done as per the test guideline OECD 103. The method followed was according to Siwoloboff. The mean boiling point was determine to be 298.0°C at 965.6 hPa.
Density:
The density of test item [1R-(1? ,2? ,5?,8?)]-4,4,8-trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate (CAS No. 57082-24-3)was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to the IS 4730 : 1994 (Reaffirmed 2010) – Method for Determination of Density of Liquids (First Revision) using glass pyknometer. The mean density of test item was determine to be 0.9977 g/cm³at 20°C and 965.0hPa.
Particle size distribution:
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form. On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, [1R-(1?,2?,5?,8?)]-4,4,8 -trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate was determine to be a colourless to yellowish liquid.
Vapour pressure:
The estimated vapour pressure of [1R-(1α,2α,5β,8β)]-4,4,8 -trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1 -yl acetate at 25 deg C was 0.0481 Pa.
Partition coefficient:
Based on the available data from modeling databases using the OPERA V1.02, octanol water partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the test substance (1R-(1alpha,2alpha,5beta, 8beta))-4,4,8 -Trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecanyl acetate was estimated to be 4.3. Thus, on the basis of logPow value, chemical (1R-(1alpha,2alpha,5beta,8beta))-4,4,8 -Trimethyl tricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecanyl acetate can be considered to be hydrophobic in nature.
Water solubility:
The water solubility determination of test item [1R-(1α,2α,5β,8β)]-4,4,8-trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate; (1R-(1alpha,2alpha,5beta,8beta))-4,4,8-Trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecanyl acetate(57082-24-3) was done as per the OECD guideline 105 by spectrophotometric analytical method as per OECD 101. The solubility of [1R-(1α,2α,5β,8β)]-4,4,8-trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate; (1R-(1alpha,2alpha,5beta,8beta))-4,4,8-Trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecanyl acetate (57082-24-3) in water was determine to be 15.88445 mg/L at 25°C.
Thus the test chemical [1R-(1α,2α,5β,8β)]-4,4,8-trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecan-1-yl acetate; (1R-(1alpha,2alpha,5beta,8beta))-4,4,8-Trimethyltricyclo[6.3.1.02,5]dodecanyl acetate(57082-24-3) is considered to be slightly soluble.
